Notary Fees

  • The maximum fee a Notary Public may charge is ten dollars ($10) per individual notarization. (Indiana Code 33-42-14-1). Notaries may bill a customer separately for incidental costs and services such as travel.
  • Notaries may charge no more than the federal mileage rate as a travel fee. The current federal mileage rate can be found by visiting the IRS website.
  • Notaries should inform clients in advance of any service fees that may be charged above the $10.00 per notarization fee.
